Product Introduction
Insulation Rigid Mica Sheet
Insulation rigid mica sheet can be cut into insulated shapes, that meaning it is an extremely versatile manufacturing material. It can be used for furnace construction in its rigid form and relining function in its flexible sheet form. Mica sheets are resistant to high temperatures, offering suitable insulation for the furnace floor. The electrical industry benefits a lot from the use of mica sheets. Mica sheets have excellent dielectric properties, meaning it is well-suited to electrical insulation.
Mica sheets are also used for substrates as they are extremely flat and level over a large area. Mica sheets have a net negative charge, meaning they are somewhat hydrophilic. They are optically flat, transparent, and clear and are not altered by fingerprints
Application
Insulation Mica plate are used for high-performance thermal and electrical insulation in a broad range of industries such as
1. heating factors for electrical & thermo mechanical equipment
2. development of induction, arc or excessive frequency furnaces
3. excessive voltage applications
4. excessive thermal applications
5. industrial sealing and gasket industries
Mica properties
1. High flame resistance – mica can withstand up to 1000°C
2. High dielectric strength: up to 20 KV/mm
3. Good tensile strength
4. Asbestos-free
5. Environmentally friendly, non-toxic and infusible
6. High resistance to mechanical stress
About mica
Mica, also called isinglass, is a natural mineral that is characterized by its thin peeling nature.
In addition, mica has excellent electrical insulation and heat resistance, and is widely used for
power and power generation, fire and insulation fields, home appliances, next-generation energy fields,
production of new materials, and research and development.
Packing&Shipping
One pack is 100kg in general. The product is sealed usually with plastic film and packed in carton. The fumigation-free pallet shall be used when exporting. Each pallet contains <1000KG.
Storage: Stored in dry and moisture-proof indoor region at room temperature, there is no carrier lifestyles limit.
Shipping way: By sea,B y air or By categorical in accordance your choice.
We strive our satisfactory to pack and shield the items in accordance to customer's requirement base on special sizes, hardness and different details.

What You're Getting
Rigid mica sheet is a hard, flat panel made from phlogopite or muscovite mica paper, pressed and bonded with a high-temperature silicone resin. Think of it as a machinable ceramic-like board that does two things extremely well: it stops electricity and it handles heat that would destroy plastics, composites, and most other insulating materials.
Unlike flexible mica sheet - which is designed to wrap around curves and conform to cylindrical surfaces - rigid mica sheet holds its shape. You cut it, drill it, punch it, and install it as a structural insulation component. It does not flex under mechanical load. It does not delaminate under thermal cycling. It does not burn.
The sheet format makes it ideal for CNC routing into custom gaskets, washers, furnace linings, and electrical barriers - all from a single board thickness.
Machining and Fabrication
Rigid mica sheet machines cleanly - no chipping, no delamination, no dust explosions. Standard tooling works: carbide-tipped drills, CNC routers, punch presses, and water jets. We can supply:
Full sheets - standard sizes for your in-house fabrication
Die-cut components - your drawing, our tooling, finished parts
CNC-machined shapes - complex profiles, tight tolerances, batch production
If you are currently machining your own mica parts from full sheets and spending too much labor on it, ask us to quote the finished component instead.

Where Rigid Mica Sheet Goes to Work
Not a list of industries. These are the specific components and assemblies where rigid mica board is the default material choice:
Furnace construction - floor liners, door seals, observation window frames, element support boards. The board stays dimensionally stable at operating temperature.
Induction and arc furnace insulation - coil separators, crucible supports, splash guards. Handles sustained radiant heat plus occasional molten metal contact.
Heating element supports - mounting boards for resistance wire elements in industrial ovens, kilns, and heat treatment equipment.
High-voltage barriers - phase separators, busbar insulation, arc chutes in switchgear and power distribution equipment. The 20 kV/mm dielectric strength is the reason.
Gaskets and seals - die-cut rigid mica gaskets for bolted flanges, furnace doors, and high-temperature pressure vessels. Can be cut to match any bolt pattern.
Thermal break pads - insulating spacers between hot and cold structural members in processing equipment.
For furnace relining applications requiring a conformable material, see our flexible mica sheet - a different product designed for wrapping and layering rather than rigid installation.
Quick Questions
Muscovite or phlogopite - which do I need? Muscovite: rated to 500°C continuous, lighter in color, suitable for most electrical and general industrial applications. Phlogopite: rated to 700°C continuous, darker amber-brown color, for high-temperature furnace and foundry use. If your operating temperature is above 500°C, you need phlogopite. If you are unsure, tell us your application and we will specify.
What sheet sizes do you supply? Standard and custom dimensions available. Contact us with your required length, width, and thickness.
Can you cut to my shape instead of shipping full sheets? Yes. CNC routing and die-cutting services available. Send your drawing - we quote the finished part, not the raw sheet.
Is this material asbestos-free? Yes. All our mica sheets are asbestos-free by composition. No asbestos is used in raw materials or processing.
What is the minimum order? Varies by specification and sheet size. Contact us for a tailored quotation.
Does rigid mica sheet absorb moisture? Mica is naturally hydrophilic at the molecular level, but the silicone resin binder seals the sheet structure. In practical terms, rigid mica sheet performs reliably in industrial environments. Store dry as a best practice.
How does rigid mica compare to ceramic fiber board for furnace lining? Ceramic fiber board offers lower thermal conductivity (better insulation). Rigid mica sheet offers higher dielectric strength and better machinability. Many furnace designs use both: ceramic board for the bulk insulation layer, rigid mica sheet as the hard, electrically insulating inner face.
