Description of PET Release Film used for printer sticker label
Release coatings can be thought of as the PSA delivery system, providing a controlled unwind or release force and protecting the adhesive from contamination and unintentional contact until it is applied. Biaxially oriented PET film (BOPET) is manufactured with a film of the molten polymer being extruded onto a chill roll, which quenches it into the amorphous state. Biaxial orientation, then, occurs through a drawing process which can be either simultaneous or sequential.
