PET release film production process

PET release film, as the name suggests, is a polyester film with specific release properties on the surface. This type of material is widely used in industry, such as film for electronic products, covering and protecting adhesive products, etc. PET (polyethylene terephthalate) material is favored for its excellent mechanical properties, chemical stability, and good heat resistance.
The production of PET release film mainly includes the following key steps
- Raw material preparation: Use high-quality PET raw material particles to ensure excellent basic performance of the membrane material.
- Melting and extrusion: PET particles are melted at high temperatures and extruded through an extruder to form a film.
- Stretching and orientation: The prepared primary film is oriented through the heating and stretching process to enhance its physical properties.
- Release coating treatment: Apply a layer of release agent evenly on the surface of the PET film. Common release agents include silicone oil, etc. The thickness and uniformity of the release coating directly affect the release effect, so it needs to be accurately controlled.
- Curing and heat treatment: The coated membrane needs to be cured through heat treatment processes such as baking to ensure its good release and stability.
- Cooling and coiling: After heat treatment, the film needs to be cooled for coiling. The cooling rate should not be too fast to prevent uneven shrinkage of the film.
- Cutting and packaging: According to customer needs, large rolls of film materials are cut into specified specifications, and quality inspection, packaging and shipment are carried out.
Throughout the entire production process, quality control is crucial. For example, the temperature control during the extrusion process needs to be precise to ensure uniform film material texture; the uniformity of the release agent coating is directly related to the use effect of the final product; the time and temperature setting of the curing stage must be strictly operated in accordance with the standards.
The production technology of PET release film is relatively high, which not only requires high-quality raw materials and advanced production equipment, but also requires high skills of operating technicians.
