How to Choose Peelable PE Coated Kraft Paper Roll Correctly?
Jul 30, 2025
1. What is Peelable PE Coated Kraft Paper Roll?
Peelable PE coated kraft paper is a product with a peelable polyethylene (PE) film evenly coated on the surface of kraft paper via an extrusion coating process. The moderate bond strength between the PE film and the kraft paper ensures easy and clean tearing during use, leaving no adhesive residue or paper fibers. It also provides excellent waterproof, moisture-proof, and barrier properties.

2. Typical Applications of Peelable PE Coated Kraft Paper
Sponge Composites/Mattress Composites
Used as a barrier layer during hot pressing, allowing for quick peeling after heating, improving production efficiency.
Building Waterproofing Roll Release Paper
Used as a peelable release layer in SBS and APP waterproofing rolls.
Packaging Materials
Used for moisture- and oil-proof packaging of heavy industrial parts.
Tape/Hot Melt Adhesive Processing
Used as a backing paper, offering excellent peeling properties and preventing sticking.
3.Core advantages of Peelable PE coated kraft paper
| Product advantages | Description |
|---|---|
| Easy-peeling Performance | When peeled off, the paper is neat without tearing, the peeling force is moderate, and there is no residual glue or paper fiber falling off. |
| Good Thermal Stability | It can be used in high-temperature environments such as hot pressing and heating lamination, and is not easy to deform or melt. |
| Strong Moisture and Oil Resistance | The PE film layer has natural waterproof and oil-proof properties to protect the product from external pollution. |
| Green, Environmentally Friendly and Recyclable | The base material is virgin wood pulp kraft paper, and the PE film can be sorted and disposed of, meeting the requirements of sustainable procurement. |
Key Parameters Customers Should Consider When Purchasing Paper
Paper Basis Weight
Common weights include 60gsm, 70gsm, 90gsm, and 120gsm. This determines the paper's strength and stiffness.
We recommend 60-80gsm for light-load packaging and 90gsm or higher for heavy industrial or waterproof applications.
PE Coating Thickness
Generally, it ranges from 10-30μm. Single- or double-sided coatings can be customized depending on the application.
We recommend single-sided coating for mattresses and tapes, while double-sided coating is recommended for waterproof and oil-proof packaging.
Peel Strength
Select materials with moderate peel strength. Too little peel strength can easily cause peeling, while too much peel strength can cause uneven peeling.
We recommend consulting with the supplier regarding the intended use and testing the peel strength to ensure it is suitable for the hot pressing/lamination process.
Color & Finish
Common colors are brown/natural, but white, black, and functional coatings such as anti-static coatings are also available.
