Technical indicators of coated paper

The technical indicators of coated paper include the following, dry silicone coating amount, normal temperature peeling force, aging peeling force and residual adhesion rate.

Dry silicone coating amount refers to the amount of release agent coated on the material, the unit is grams per square meter. Generally, the coating amount of solvent-based silicone oil is from 0.30 to 0.80 grams per square meter, and the coating amount of solvent-free silicone oil is from 0.80 to 1.30 grams per square meter. Professional testing equipment is required to test coating weight. The amount of silicone oil applied directly affects the peeling performance. A higher coating amount can cover the base paper densely and ensure even distribution of silicone oil. However, if the silicone oil coating amount is low, coating leakage and other phenomena may easily occur, resulting in poor peeling. Some release coating suppliers reduce the amount of silicone oil coating, resulting in heavier peeling and producing heavy release paper, which is quite risky when used. Reliable manufacturers adjust the peeling force by adjusting the chemical formula without reducing the amount of silicone oil applied. This requires a long period of technical accumulation and is not something that can be achieved overnight.

Normal temperature peeling force, the peeling force data obtained by standard testing methods at normal temperature, the unit is N/25mm, how many grams can be converted into. Generally, 0.10N/25mm means a peeling force of less than 10 grams, commonly known as light peeling; 0.20N/25mm, that is, a peeling force of less than 20 grams, commonly known as medium peeling; 0.35~0.45N/25mm, that is, 35~45 grams Peeling force, commonly known as heavy peeling; 0.60~0.80N/25mm, that is, a peeling force of 60~80 grams, commonly known as heavy peeling; Of course, there is also 0.03~0.04N/25mm, that is, a peeling force of 3~4 grams, commonly known as light peeling. Light peeling; There is also a peeling force of 1.00N/25mm, which is more than 100 grams, commonly known as overweight peeling.

Aged peeling force, the peeling force data measured after aging, is generally slightly larger than the normal temperature peeling force.

The residual adhesion rate refers to the force of the release paper during the second peeling after the first peeling. The calculated data mainly reflects the curing effect of the silicone oil. The residual adhesion rate of UV curing silicone oil is generally 99.99%, and the residual adhesion rate of thermal curing silicone oil is as high as 90%. If a few suppliers claim that the residual adhesion rate of their release paper is 99.99%, that would be suspicious. If desiliconization occurs, the residual adhesion rate of this release paper will generally not be higher than 70%. Testing the technical indicators of release paper is a very complex project. Generally, electronics factories and tape factories can only test the last few data. As for the silicone oil coating amount, it generally does not appear in the technical reports of release coating suppliers.
