Which hardness is higher between mica board and epoxy board?

Aug 15, 2022

Mica plate has excellent bending strength and processing function. It has high flexural strength and excellent resistance. Can be processed into various shapes without lamination. Excellent environmental protection function, mica board does not contain asbestos, less smoke and smell when heated, even smokeless and tasteless.

Muscovite hard mica board is a high-strength mica board material that can still maintain its original function when used at high temperatures. It is widely used in the following fields:

Household appliances: irons, hair dryers, toasters, coffee pots, microwave ovens, electric heaters, etc.;

Metallurgical chemical industry: power frequency furnace, intermediate frequency furnace, electric arc furnace, injection molding machine, etc.

The reaction between epoxy resin and curing agent is carried out by direct addition reaction or ring-opening polymerization reaction of epoxy group in the resin molecule. No water or other volatile by-products are released. Compared with unsaturated polyester resins and phenolic resins, their shortening rate during curing is very low. The cured epoxy resin system has excellent mechanical properties. But the overall function is not as good as mica board.

Epoxy board: Glass fiber cloth is bonded with epoxy resin and pressed by heating. The model is 3240, which has high mechanical properties at medium temperature and stable electrical properties at high temperature. Suitable for mechanical, electrical and electronic parts of high insulating structure, with high mechanical and dielectric functions, good heat resistance and moisture resistance. Heat resistance class F (155 degrees).

Use features

1. Various forms. A variety of resin, curing agent, modifier systems are available to suit a variety of formats, ranging from very low viscosities to high melting point solids.

2. Easy to cure. With different curing agents, the epoxy resin system can be cured in the temperature range of 0 ~ 180 ℃.

3. Strong adhesion. The existence of polar hydroxyl and ether bonds in the epoxy resin molecular chain makes it have high adhesion to various substances. The reduced curing time and low internal stress of epoxy resins also help to improve bond strength.
