Product Introduction

Ceramic mica sheets

Ceramic mica sheets are multi-layer laminated insulation panels constructed from alternating layers of phlogopite (or muscovite) mica paper, glass cloth, and ceramic fiber felt - bonded with high-temperature silicone resin. This unique composite structure combines the dielectric strength of natural mica with the thermal insulation and fireproof properties of ceramic fiber, producing a rigid, asbestos-free sheet that excels in extreme environments where heat, electrical stress, and mechanical vibration are present simultaneously.

Available in five standard construction types (PJ460 series) with thicknesses from 0.3 mm to 3.5 mm and sheet sizes up to 1,000 × 1,000 mm (roll format up to 100 m for flexible grades), our ceramic mica sheets serve as thermal barriers, fireproof layers, and electrical insulation in industrial furnaces, metallurgical equipment, electrical apparatus, and shipbuilding applications. All grades are free of asbestos and noxious substances.

Key Advantages

1. Exceptional Thermal Resistance Ceramic fiber integration provides outstanding heat insulation - far beyond what pure mica sheets can achieve. Continuous operating temperature ratings reach up to 1,000°C (phlogopite-based grades), making these sheets suitable for furnace linings, foundry equipment, and high-temperature process barriers.

2. Excellent Electrical Insulation High mica content (≥ 70% in flexible grades, ≥ 40% in ceramic-reinforced grades) delivers reliable dielectric performance. Voltage endurance ratings from 2 kV to 5 kV depending on construction type, ensuring safe electrical isolation in heated equipment.

3. Vibration & Shock Resistant The laminated glass cloth reinforcement provides mechanical toughness and vibration damping. Sheets resist cracking, delamination, and structural failure under mechanical shock - critical for locomotive, marine, and industrial machinery applications.

4. Corrosion & Load Resistant The composite structure withstands thermal cycling, chemical exposure, and compressive loads without degradation. Low shrinkage at elevated temperatures ensures dimensional stability in service.

5. Asbestos-Free & Safe All grades are manufactured without asbestos or other noxious substances. Safe for use in enclosed environments where worker exposure is a concern.

6. Customizable Constructions Five standard lamination configurations available (see table below), each optimized for specific performance requirements. Custom specifications to meet your exact application needs.

FAQ

1. What is the difference between ceramic mica sheets and standard mica sheets? Ceramic mica sheets incorporate ceramic fiber felt in the lamination, significantly improving thermal insulation and fire resistance compared to pure mica or mica-glass laminates. The PJ460-MGMGZ type, with its ceramic core, is rated for the highest temperature applications.

2. What temperature can these sheets withstand? Phlogopite-based ceramic mica sheets withstand continuous temperatures up to 1,000°C (intermittent peaks higher). Contact us with your specific temperature requirements for a grade recommendation.

3. Which construction type should I choose? If maximum thermal insulation is the priority, choose MGMGZ with its ceramic fiber core. For general electrical insulation with heat resistance, MGMG, GMMG, or MGGM types are appropriate. For moisture-prone environments, GMMF with its film backing is recommended.

4. Are these sheets flexible or rigid? The 0.3–0.5 mm types are flexible and can be supplied in rolls. The 2.5–3.5 mm ceramic-reinforced type (MGMGZ) is rigid and supplied in sheet format.

5. Do these sheets contain asbestos? No. All grades are asbestos-free and contain no noxious substances.

6. Can you cut sheets to custom sizes? Yes. Custom sheet dimensions and die-cut shapes are available. Contact us with your requirements.

7. Do you provide samples? Yes. Samples are available for evaluation. Contact us with your specifications.
