Note: The product less than 2.0mm thickness can be formed by stamping. The products larger than 2.0mm shall be processed by turning, milling, drilling and other processes.
What this sheet is
Heat resistant mica sheet is a rigid laminate built from mica paper and a silicone resin binder, hot-pressed into a dense, dimensionally stable board. Because the insulation comes from natural mica rather than an organic polymer, the sheet keeps its dielectric strength and mechanical shape at temperatures where epoxy glass laminate and most engineering plastics have already failed.
We supply it in two mica types, muscovite and phlogopite, in thicknesses from 0.1 mm to 100 mm, and in sheet sizes up to 1000 × 2400 mm. Both grades are used as slot insulation, barrier and spacer insulation in transformers, as thermal and electrical barriers in household appliances, and as heat shields in industrial heaters.

Thickness, sheet size and processing limits
Thickness drives the manufacturing route, so it should be specified before the drawing is issued:
Below 2.0 mm - the sheet can be produced by stamping, which is the fast and economical route for high volumes of small parts.
2.0 mm and above - the sheet is processed by turning, milling and drilling. Please send a drawing with tolerances.
We support CNC machining, die-cutting and drilling to drawing. Tolerances and minimum radii are confirmed at quotation.

FAQ
Muscovite or phlogopite - which do I need?
- Muscovite is the lower-cost grade with the higher dielectric strength and is the usual choice for transformer and appliance insulation within its temperature class. Phlogopite costs more but holds its properties at higher temperatures. If your continuous operating temperature is near the top of the muscovite range, specify phlogopite.
What is the maximum continuous temperature?
- It depends on the mica type and the resin system. See the grade table above. We quote the figure from the batch test report rather than a general brochure number.
Can you supply self-adhesive or glass-cloth-backed sheet?
- Yes. Tell us the assembly method and we will recommend the format.
Do you supply machined parts, not just sheets?
- Yes. We machine to drawing, including drilling, milling and die-cutting.
Can we visit your factory or have a third party inspect?
- Yes to both. Third-party pre-shipment inspection is welcome.
