Adhesive tapes-whether used for electronics, packaging, industrial assembly, automotive, or medical applications-almost always come with release paper or release film as a protective layer.
Although it seems like a simple backing sheet, its functions are essential for maintaining tape performance, ensuring production stability, and protecting the adhesive before use.

1. Protects the Adhesive Layer From Contamination
Adhesive tapes are sensitive to:

Moisture

Handling during transportation
Without a release liner, the adhesive surface would quickly gather dust and lose its bonding strength.
Release paper acts as a clean, controlled barrier, keeping the adhesive fresh and uncontaminated from the point of production to the moment of application.

Pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSA) can degrade if not properly protected.
